The Long Run: The Huff

Follow Craig & Sam as they take on ‘The Huff’ for their Sunday long run. The Huff is a majestic 23km run that captures the very best of Gippsland and its gateway to the alpine country.

The journey of ‘The Huff’ begins just outside the remote township of Licola at the start of the National Alpine Park on the Tamboritha Road. The run winds along the Wellington River for the first 14km in the shades of peppermints and manna gums. As you cross the last Wellington River bridge you start the infamous Alpe D’Huff, a 7% unrelenting gradient climb into the Gunai Kunai mountainous lands of Tamboritha and Buragwonduc. ‘The Huff’ finishes at the top of Bennison Lookout, where you will be able capture the breathless views across our mountainous heritage of the Wonnangatta – Moroka area.
